The Shimano Deore crankset FC-M4100-B2 for 10-speed drivetrains has a 3 mm further outward chainline compared to FC-M4100. This means that the distance from the frame to the centre between the chainrings is 51.8 mm instead of 48.8 mm, making the cranks compatible with 148 mm frame over locknut dimensions. However, the two chainrings are also mounted on this model via a conventional 4-arm spider. Thanks to the 2-piece construction, a balanced ratio of stiffness to weight is ensured.
