MAX bearings provide 35-40% more load capacity than standard cross bearings thanks to a special design in which instead of baskets there is a maximum number of balls (full filling) introduced into the bearing through a non-standard slot. The bearings have deeper treadmills to provide increased side support and better counteract twisting and multidirectional forces that act on axles in mountain bikes. The double-row design doubling the contact area of the bearing, significantly increasing the rigidity of the suspension, and the widened inner raceway eliminates the need for additional spacers in the suspension joints.
The bearing was used in the trek and Devinci bicycle suspension axles.
